Octavio Ocampo

Octavio Ocampo was born in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico. He studied
at the "La Esmeralda" Fine Art Institute, Mexico City (1961-1965) and the San Francisco Art Institute (1972-1974).
Since 1972 he has been exhibiting his art in Mexico, USA, Canada, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East.
His work can be found in many important collections, including:
Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (Mexico City)
Jimmy Carter Museum (Atlanta, Georgia)
Reina Sofia Museum (Madrid, Spain)
Jane Fonda's Collection
Cher's Collection
He creates the most amazing "metamorphic" art in the world. Optical illusions, fading back and stepping
forward, finally create the large scale image. The Stitching Studio has created cross stitch designs under contract
with the artist and he has approved the completed works.
Octavio has also painted "biographical portraits" for celebrities in the United States and Mexico including President
Jimmy Carter, Jane Fonda, Cher (for the front and back covers of her "Heart of Stone" album) and Cesar Chaves.
